registered during the during the December quarter
1898 in the Salford R.D. - ref: 8d/113, the son of
James & Mary Elizabeth Wallwork (nee Hesford).

Corporation Labourer - born: Lymm, Cheshire.  
Also - Elizabeth Wallwork - Wife - aged: 34 -
born: Openshaw, Manchester.   Plus 3 siblings.

1911 Census - 6 Dun Street, Salford.   Son - aged:
12 - Scholar - born: Salford.    Head of household

Manchester.   Plus 5 siblings.

Originally enlisted into the Lancashire Fusiliers,
serving for just 96 days until it was discovered
that he had lied about his age, undeterred, he
re-enlisted once he was of age.

WO363 - Attested into the 7th Battalion,
Lancashire Fusiliers at Salford on the 25th
November 1915.   He was residing at 6 Dun Street,
Salford and was aged: 18 years, 1 month.   His
occupation: Riddle Maker and had previsouly served
for 96 days in the 8th Battalion, Lancashire
Fusiliers.   He was 5 feet 3 1/2 inches in height,
had a chest expansion of 3 inch to 34 inches.  
His hair: Auburn, eyes: Blue, and had a Fresh
complexion.
Mobilized on the 10th May 1916 - Service No. 4723.
 Served at Home (UK) from the 10th May 1916 until
the 25th November 1917, during which time he was
transferred to the 41st (Hereford) Monmouth
Regiment on the 29th December 1916.   Posted to
France on the 26th November 1917, returning to
England on the 10th June 1919 when he was
demobbed.

Married Ivy Reid at St. Phillip's P.C., Salford on
the 7th July 1923.

Salford.   Ernest Wallwork - Married - Born on the
7th October 1898 - occ: Tube Drawer at Copper Tube
Manufacturers.   Ivy Wallwork - Married - Born on
the 8th October 1899 - occ: Unpaid Domestic
Duties.   Thomas Wallwork - Single - Born on the
29th March 1924 - occ: Wire Die Turner.   There is
one redacted record at this address - this is
probably one of their two daughters - either - Ivy
Wallwork, born: 1930 or Violet Wallwork, born:
1936.

Death registered during the Decenber quarter 1940
in the Manchester R.D. - ref: 8d/915 - aged: 42.

CWGC - Works Fireman. Husband of Ivy Wallwork, of
6 Yearsley Street. Died at Broughton Copper
Works.
