Born during the March quarter 1904 in the Salford
R.D. - ref: 8d/92, the son of Alfred & Martha Ann
Hertzog (nee Turner).

In 1901 Norman's parents were residing at 43 Beech
Street, Broughton, Salford.    Alfred (listed as
Alf), was a 27 year old chemist's Assistant, born
in Salford.   His wife listed simply as Martha
Hertzog was aged: 28 and was born at Aldershot,
Hampshire.

1911 Census - 15 Clarence Street, Broughton,
Salford.     Son - aged: 7 - Scholar - born:
Salford.    Head of household - Alfred Hertzog -
Married - aged: 38 - occ: Wholesale Chemist's
Assistant - born: Salford.   Also - Martha Ann
Hertzog - Wife - aged: 39 - born: Colchester,
Essex.   Plus 1 elder brother (Alfred Hertzog) and
2 paternal cousins.

His father died 9th April 1934, his mother died
24th June 1955 and his elder brother - Alfred
Hertzog died 11th July 1958.  All three are buried
in Salford (Agecroft) Cemetery. 

Married Emma Blenkinsopp during the September
quarter 1939 in the Salford R.D. - ref: 8d/1976.  
Emma was the daughter of James & Polly
Blenkinsopp, from Durham.

1939 National Registration - No Trace.

Death registered during the March quarter  1941 in
the Salford R.D. - ref: 8d/938.

CWGC - Firewatcher; of 21 Lancaster Road,
Pendleton. Son of Alfred and Martha Ann Hertzog of
the same address; husband of Emma Hertzog. Died at
Hope Hospital.

Probate granted on the 7th April 1941 to Emma
Hertzog (widow).   Resided at 21 Lancaster Road,
Pendleton and died at 91 Eccles Old Road,
Pendleton on the 23rd December 1940.  His Estate
valued at £615. 13s. 0d.
