hit by shell splinters at 305 Barton Road,
Stretford, from where his body was recovered on
the 23rd December 1940 and taken to the City Road
Mortuary, Old Trafford.    His body was identified
by his father-in-Law - P. Stead and released for
burial to Howarth (Undertakers) 912 Chester Road,
Stretford.    Described as being 5 feet 7 inches
in height and having black hair.     Employed as a
Storekeeper.

Buried 28/12/1940 - Burial No. 17,870.

M.I. "A devoted husband and loving father".

His widow - Minnie, died 13/02/1944.
