registered during the September quarter 1891 in
the Easington R.D. - ref: 10a/461, the daughter of
Thomas & Hannah Brownless (nee Newton).

1901 Census - 38 School Square, Thornley, Durham.

aged: 42 - occ: Coal Miner Hewer - born: Durham
Thornley.   Also - Hannah Brownless - Wife - aged:

siblings.

Thornley, Durham.   Head of household - Thomas
Brownless - Married - aged: 52 - occ: Coal Miner

CWD Report No. 73.    Died as a result of falling
debris at 28 Stanley Road, Old Trafford, from
where her body was recovered at 15.45 hrs on the
9th January 1941 and taken to the City Road
Mortuary, Old Trafford.    Her body was identified
by her nephew - J. Hutchinson and released for
burial to the Council's Undertaker Contractor - R.
Pepperdine, 31 Ayres Road, Old Trafford. 

1939 National Registration - 9 Princess Avenue,
Stretford.   A total of eight people resided at
this address in 1939 - Nos. 1-4 were the Laybourne
family.   George Laybourne - Married - Born: 25th
June 1890 - occ: General Labourer at Soap Factory.
  Jane E. Laybourne - Married - Born: 1st July
1891 - occ: Unpaid Domestic Duties.   There were
two redacted records - presumably their two
children - Catherine & George Jnr.

Killed when a land mine landed on Stanley Road,
Old Trafford.   This was the worst single incident
in terms of loss of life in the whole of Greater
Manchester during WW2.   In total, thirty three
persons were killed.

Buried 15/01/1941 - Burial No. 17,938.

CWGC - of 9 Princes Avenue. Wife of George
Laybourne. Died at 28 Stanley Road.
