Born on the 12th March 1915, the birth being
registered during the June quarter 1915 in the
Hemel Hempstead R.D. - ref: 3a/1705, the son of
Horace William & Cissy Epps (nee Blackpool).

1939 National Registration - 41 Blenheim Crescent,
Southend on Sea, Essex.   Horrace W. Epps -
Married - born: 19th April 1888 - occ: Gardener
(Heavy Worker).   Cissy Epps - Married - born:
30th December 1887 - occ: Unpaid Domestic Duties. 
 Horace D. Epps - Single - born: 12th March 1915 -
occ: Cost Accountant.

CWGC - Son of Mr. & Mrs. Horace W. Epps of Leigh
on Sea.

He died on 08/05/1941 presumably at Trafford Park.
  There are no deaths recorded for 08/05/1941 in
the Southend (Sutton) Cemetery, but there were 59
deaths in the Manchester area that night.  The
CWGC seem to have recorded him as a military death
rather than a civilian death and they do not state
where he was killed.

A company of local defence volunteers, the
original home guard', was raised by K. G. Maxwell
on behalf of Trafford Park firms.   After various
changes in organization, this force became the
45th County of Lancaster Battalion Home Guard,
over 4000 strong, of which C Company containing
the two M-V works units was commanded successively
by E. Strong and H. Lawson-Jones.   By this time
the company specialist officers were entirely M-V
men, and the battalion headquarters staff mainly
so. 

The 45th Battalion Home Guard was known as 45th
Lancashire (Ford's Motor's Trafford Park)
Battalion, Home Guard.  Administered by the
Lancashire County Territorial Force Association.  
Manchester Regiment badged Home Guard Battalions
were the:

23rd Lancashire (Oldham) Battalion,  25th
Lancashire (Leigh) Battalion,  26th Lancashire
(Wigan) Battalion, 
44th Lancashire (Stretford) Battalion,  45th
Lancashire (Ford Motors Trafford Park) Battalion, 
46th (South Manchester Renold Chains), 
47th (Wythenshawe),  48th (Manchester/Ardwick), 
49th (A V Roe, Newton Heath),  50th (Ancoats),
