AFS Firemen Leslie J. Daggatt and William Bagnall
were killed when a bomb demolished a house
opposite their Station.   The tenants - Mr Polak
and his two daughters were not at home.   In
another suburb [Stretford], Fire Watcher Harry
Delaney was killed whilst patrolling the avenue in
which he lived.    Mr. H. Polak and his two
daughters resided at 136 Birchfields Road,
Manchester.
