Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/1545, the son of Robert
William Charles & Elizabeth Bagnall (nee Jubb).

In 1911, his parents were residing at 4 Eleanor
Street, off Church Lane, Gorton, Manchester, which
is probably where William was born.

AFS Firemen Leslie J. Daggatt and William Bagnall
were killed when a bomb demolished a house
opposite their Station.   The tenants - Mr Polak
and his two daughters were not at home.   In
another suburb [Stretford], Fire Watcher Harry
Delaney was killed whilst patrolling the avenue in
which he lived.   Mr. H. Polak and his two
daughters resided at 136 Birchfields Road,
Manchester.

Probate granted at Manchester on the 24th July
1941 to Elizabeth Bagnall.   A member of the
A.F.S. Depot at Birchfields Road, Rusholme,
Manchester.   Estate valued at £181. 5. 3d.
