Born during the June quarter 1911 in the Rochdale
R.D. ref: 8e/40, the son of George Leach & Hannah
Adamson (nee Hardman).

Educated at the Society of Friends School,
Ackworth, Yorkshire.   After leaving school he
served his apprentriceship with Metropolitan
Vickers Ltd at Trafford Park and gained a degree
of Bachelor of Science at Manchester University.

Married - Doris May Hallows in the Heywood  R.D. -
ref: 8c/1533.

He was later employed by the Central Electricity
Board stationed at Warrington.  He later
transferred to London where he had been working
for over three years.

Report in the 23rd October 1940 edition of the
Rochdale Observer states that Oliver and Doris
were cremated on the 22nd.

Another report in the same paper dated 26th
October informs that his father and mother had a
lucky escape in this incident.  At the time of the
raid they were sleeping in the first floor
bedroom, their son and daughter-in-Law were
sleeping downstairs in the dining room that was
considered to be safer.   The HE bomb hit the
house next door, demolishing it and killing Oliver
& Doris.  His father was a well known electrical
contracter based in Yorkshire Street, Rochdale,
but had moved to London eight weeks previously, he
and his wife were both injured in the raid and
both ended up in hospital.

Selsden.   Son of George L. Adamson of Nadencroft,
Bagslate Moor Road, Norden, Rochdale and the late
Hannah Adamson.  Husband of Doris May Adamson. 
Died at 20  Little Heath Road.

Croydon.
