Born on the 16th January 1900, the birth being
registered during the March quarter 1900 in the
Fylde R.D. - ref: 8e/737, the son of Michael &
Elizabeth McGreevy (nee Wignall).

1901 Census - 31 Blakiston Street, West Fleetwood,
Fylde, Lancashire.   Son - aged: 4 - born:
Fleetwood.   Head of household - Michael McGreevy
- Married - aged: 43 - occ: Sawyer & Fish Box
Maker - born: Ireland.    Also - Elizabeth
McGreevy - Wife - aged: 39 - born: Fleetwood. 
Plus 4 elder sisters and a paternal uncle.     The
record definitely states that John was aged, 4
years.   Probably an error by the enumerator, as I
think this should read 4 months, not 4 years.

1911 Census - No Trace.

Married Ann Butler Fish during the December
quarter 1920 in the Fylde R.D. - ref: 8e/1626.

1939 National Registration - 47 Wilburn Street
(Railway Hotel), Salford.   John McGreevy -
Married - born: 16th January 1900 - occ: Hotel
Manager.   Ann B. McGreevy - Married - born: 27th
October 1900 - occ: Assistant to Husband.

Although killed on the 23rd December 1940, John &
Ann McGreevy's bodies were not recovered until the
25th December 1940.

Death recorded as during the March quarter 1941 in
the Salford R.D. - ref: 8d/1058.   Ann B & John
McGreevy are both listed under that reference.

Died at Railway Hotel. 47 Wilburn Street, Salford.

Four persons were killed in this incident.   John
& Ann Butler McGreevy, plus Mary Cavanagh and her
son - Terence Joseph Cavanagh.  According to a
Cavanagh relative, only the landlord's dog
survived the bombing of the public house.
