Born during the September quarter 1925 in the
Rochdale R.D. - ref: 8e/27, the son of Thomas &
Ellen Rose Shaw (nee Perrins).

1939 National Registration.   29 Heywood Road,
Rochdale.   Tom Shaw - Married - born on the 14th
April 1885 - occ: Cotton Dresser.   Ellen Rose
Shaw - Married - born on the 20th August 1887 -
occ: Unpaid Domestic Duties.   Marjorie Shaw -
Single - born on the 19th June 1920 - occ: Cotton
Doubler.  James W. Shaw - Single - born on the
21st February 1924 - occ: Machinist Textile Collar
& Wheel.   There is one redacted record at this
address which is undoubtedly Edwin Shaw.    His
father - Tom Shaw was recorded as a Police War
Constable - No.604/2373.

in the Rochdale R.D. - ref: 8e/29 - aged: 19.

Rochdale Observer - 29th November 1944.   DEATH OF
MR. E. SHAW   The death occurred on Saturday night
of Mr. Edwin Shaw, the youngest son of Mr. & Mrs.
Thomas Shaw of 29 Heywood Road, Castleton, who had
been ill for sometime.  He was only 19 years of
age.   When war broke out he became a Messenger in
the Auxiliary Fire Service and since 1941 he had
been a full time member of the N.F.S., having
served in several Lancashire towns.   He was a
member of the Castleton Oddfellow's Social Club.  
The funeral will take place at the Rochdale
Crematorium today.

Rochdale Observer - 2nd December 1944.   FIREMAN'S
FUNERAL  Details as above, plus the funeral
details - A service at his home was conducted by
the Rev. Urien Evans, who also said the rites at
the Crematorium.  The Firemen attending were
Section Leader Forshore, Leading Fireman Middleton
and Firemen Collier, Higgins, Tower & Dawson.  In
addition to wreaths sent by the family and
friends, there were floral tributes from the
Rochdale N.F.S., the Blackpool N.F.S., the Ideal &
Princess Cinemas, Castleton and the neighbours.

Museum:-
Died on the 25th November 1944, aged: 19.   
Serving as a N.F.S. Fireman.    Report in Rochdale
Observer for 29/11/44 describes him as previously
being an A.F..S Messenger boy in Rochdale A.F.S.
at Castleton;  then a full-time N.F.S. Fireman
after 1941 "serving in various Lancashire towns." 
Not known where officially serving at time of
death but representatives came to his funeral from
Rochdale N.F.S. and Blackpool N.F.S.     Home
address was 29 Heywood Road, Castleton.   He had
been ill some time and died in hospital.    Almost
certainly died of natural causes.  Only a few
firemen attended the family funeral.   He was the
youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Shaw.

CWGC - Fireman, N.F.S. Son of T. and E. Shaw, of
29 Heywood Road, Castleton. Died at 29 Heywood
Road.
