Manchester South R.D. - ref: 8d/297, the son of
Herbert & Emily Towndrow - (Nee Hassall).

1939 National Registration - 62 Dover Street,
Manchester.   Walter Hassell (spelt with an 'e'
not an 'a') - born on the 8th August 1881 -
Married - occ: Motor Builder.    Margaret Hassell
- (ditto spelling) born on the 20th July 1873 -
Married - occ: Unpaid Domestic Duties.   Emily
Townbrow (Spelt with a 'B' not a 'd') born on the
30th January 1907 - Married - occ: Presser - Fancy
Bedding.    There is only one redacted record at
this address - which will be either Herbert Walter
Towndrow (b.1930), or Jean Emily Towndrow
(b.1933).  (But where was the other sibling not
listed?)

CWGC - Son of Emily Towndrow, of 62 Dover Street,
Hulme. Died at Cornbrook Brewery Shelter.

Featured in the M.E.N. (Education Pack) that
stated that a woman had also died in this shelter.
 In fact there were two women killed in this
shelter alongside Herbert.

The Shelter was situated on the corner of
Ellesmere Street & Trentham Street, Hulme.

Buried with his maternal grandparents - Walter &
Margaret Hassall.
