Extra Information:
Born on the 6th May 1913. - Isle of Man?

Married Thomas Smith Punch c1932. - Isle of Man?

1939 National Registration - 86 Gill Bent Road,
Cheadle, Cheshire. Betty H. Punch - Married -
born on the 6th May 1913 - occ: Unpaid Domestic
Duties. Althea M. Punch - born on the 10th
October 1938.

No trace of her husband Thomas Smith Punch in
1939. Only record is his death during the March
quarter 1976 in the Congleton & Crewe R.D. - ref:
35/587 - aged: 82 (he was born on the 23rd June
1894).

CWGC - of 35 Albert Road, Whalley Range. Wife of
T. Punch. Died at 35 Albert Road.

Death registered during the March quarter 1941 in
the Manchester R.D. - ref: 8d/31 - aged: 31.
Registered as B.H. Punch (female).

Thomas Smith Punch married Thelma M. Reed during
the September quarter 1941 in the Salford R.D. -
ref: 8d/1439. Thomas and Thelma produced four
children - Kenneth G. (1941) - Mavis M. (1943) -
Victor (1948) and Donald T. (1956).

Relative - Donald Punch informs me that the family
actually resided at ALNESS Road, Whalley Range NOT
Albert Road as stated by the CWGC. However, it
appears that Albert Road, Whalley Range was
renamed Alness Road sometime after WW2, which it
is to this day. Also that Betty H. Punch was
born in the Isle of Man.

It seemed strange to me that the family should
move from the relatively safe Cheadle Hulme and
move quite close to Trafford Park, a key German
target. Donald explains that his father was
employed in selling advertising space and that his
employers wanted him to move closer to
Manchester.
