daughter of Herbert & Louisa Wallis (nee Norris).

8c/1676.   David was also killed in this
incident.

The bomb site is shown on the Manchester Bomb Maps
- 104 part 15  (University of Manchester Library).
  This shows that an H.E. bomb dropped on the
corner of Oxford Road and Ducie Street - on the
corner property - No. 284 (a direct hit).    Ducie
Sreet is no longer there and it is now the site of
a car park.  Nos. 284 to 292 all had to be
demolished and post war Nos. 294 & 296 have been
demolished, but the row of shops Nos. 298 to 310
opposite Grafton Street are still there.  Three
properties on the other side of Oxford Road
opposite No. 284 also had to be demolished due to
this incident and the Methodist Church next to
them was damaged, as was a hotel on the other side
Ducie Street.

Buried 02/01/1941 in her parent's grave - Burial
No. 4,419.

CWGC - of 284 Oxford Road.  Daughter of Maria
Wallis, of 282 Church Road, Urmston, and of the
late Herbert Wallis; wife of David Macdonald. Died
at 284 Oxford Road.   Her mother's Christian name
was actually Louisa, not Maria.
