General Information
At 05.50 hrs on the 24th December 1944, a V.1. Flying Bomb landed on
a row of terraced houses opposite St. Anne's Church, Chapel Road,
Tottington, killing six of its occupants.

The following were injured in the incident:-

Miss Mary Conway 
Mrs Bertha Greenhalgh (died February 20th 1945 at Bury Infirmary). 
Mr Dewhurst Greenhalgh
Mrs Midgley 
Miss Ethel Riley 
Mrs Hodges 
Mr Herbert Young 
Miss N Hamer 
Miss Ellen Barnes.
