1942 - In the Salford Wardens Post, the Mayor of
Salford unveiled a simple wooden plaque to three
members of the Air Raid Wardens staff killed
during the Blitz.
Mrs. M. Taylor (69) - An Air Raid Warden, she was
out in the street, putting out Incendiary Bombs
when an H.E. Bomb landed nearby.
Mrs. A. Stone (62) - An Air Raid Warden, she was
out in the street, putting out Incendiary Bombs
when an H.E. Bomb landed nearby.
Dennis Tingle (15) - An A.R.P. Messenger, he was
delivering a message when he was killed by an H.E.
