Sweetheart of Sarah (Sally) Duddy, also killed by
bombing.
Edwin was killed whilst on leave. Killed in the
same incident as his sweetheart sustained fatal
injuries, dying from those injuries two days later
on the 18th.
CWGC - Son of George J. Franklin and Elizabeth
(Lily) Franklin, of Chorlton-cum-Hardy,
Manchester.
Parents lived at 52 Grindley Avenue,
Chorlton-cum-Hardy.
