Emily Catln (nee Roach).
His mother - Emily Catlin died during the March
quarter 1922, aged: 28. His father then married
Miriam Brown during the June quarter 1922 in the
Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/1617..
John Jnr. Married Eileen Wilson during the March
quarter 1934 in the Manchester South R.D. - ref:
8d/417. They had two sons - another John Catlin,
born during the September quarter 1934 and Edward
Catlin, born.during the March quarter 1939.
1939 National Registration - 107 Crofton street,
Manchester. John Catlin - Married - born: 31st
May 1914 - occ: Baker. He was residing here with
his father - John Catlin and his step-mother -
Miriam Catlin.
His wife - Eileen Catlin is recorded as residing
at 23 Rossall Road, Thornton Cleveleys,
Lancashire. Eileen Catlin (Catlin overwritten
"Unsworth") - Married - born: 29th November 1914 -
occ: Laundry Presser. Their son - John Catlin,
born: 3rd August 1934 - At School (presumably he
is now deceased?). There is also a redacted
record at this address, which is probably their
other son Edward Catlin, redacted under the 100
year rule.
The story in the family goes that he was driving
an ambulance behind a doctor's car, who was
driving it with its headlamps showing. As they
approached or arrived at withington hospital they
were hit by a German bomb; the bomber had homed in
on the car's headlights.

of 372 Claremont Road, Moss Side; husband of
Eileen Catlin, of 14 Canning Street, Hulme. Died
at Withington Hospital, Nell Lane.

Edith E. Catlin - was born during the June
quarter 1943 with her mother's maiden name being
Wilson - presumably this was John Unsworth and
Eileen Catlin's child ???
