Salford R.D. - ref: 8d/528, the son of Joseph &
Mary Cavanagh (neƩ Fogarty).

1939 National Registration - 50 Wilburn Street,
Salford.   Joseph Cavanagh - Married - born: 1st
November 1908 - occ: Brewery Machine Operator
(Heavy Worker).  Mary Cavanagh - Married - born:
3rd April 1908 - occ Unpaid Domestic Duties.  
There are no other entries against this address -
not even redacted records.  So, their son -
Terence Cavanagh is not listed???   Could he have
been evacuated somewhere else?

See MEN Supplement - 23/12/1990.    This article
states that he was killed whilst sheltering in the
basement of the Prince of Wales P.H. on Wilburn
Street.    His mother was also killed in this
incident, but his father survived the war as he
was serving overseas with the Royal Artillery.

The 1900 Street Directory only lists the Railway
Hotel which was situated at No. 47 Wilburn Street
next to Ordsall Lane.  No mention of a Prince of
Wales P.H.

CWGC - of 5 Wilburn Street. Son of Gnr. Joseph
Cavanagh, R.A., and of Mary Cavanagh. Died at
Railway Hotel, Wilburn Street.
