There are no other entries against this address -
not even redacted records. So, their son -
Terence Cavanagh is not listed???

See MEN Supplement - 23/12/1990. This article
states that Mary was killed whilst sheltering in
the basement of the Prince of Wales P.H. on
Wilburn Street??? Her son was also killed in
this incident, but her husband survived the war as
he was serving overseas with the Royal Artillery.
The 1900 Street Directory only lists the Railway
Hotel which was situated at No. 47 Wilburn Street
next to Ordsall Lane. No mention of a Prince of
Wales P.H.

CWGC - of 30 Wilburn Street. Daughter of Mr. T.
Fogarty, of 22 Dalton Street, and of the late Mrs.
Fogarty. Wife of Gnr. Joseph Cavanagh, R.A. Died
at Railway Hotel, Wilburn Street.

Four persons were killed in this incident. John
& Ann Butler McGreevy, plus Mary Cavanagh and her
son - Terence Joseph Cavanagh. According to a
Cavanagh relative, only the landlord's dog
survived the bombing of the public house. Legal
notices referring to the McGreevy's states that
although they were killed on the 23rd December
1940, their bodies were not recovered until the
25th December 1940, so it is more than likely that
Mary and Terence's bodies were not recovered until
the 25th either?
