October 12 1941 - Jerry dropped 4 bombs on Denton
tonight in the Stockport Road & Mount Pleasant
district. A lot of houses were completely
destroyed and 14 people were killed including a
woman who worked for us at the Denton Hat Co. She
went to school with me. It seems very sad to see
her empty chair in our trimming room - and just
goes to show how luck plays such a part in ones
life.'
One of 15 Denton civilians killed that night. |
