The second air raid took place on the night of 4
February 1941 where a lone bomber made a direct
hit on a house in Stockport Road. Both occupants,
mother and daughter, were killed outright as was a
local fire watcher, Robert Campbell. The last
victim, also a fire watcher, received wounds from
which he died the following day. 

At around 10.00 pm, Agnes and her daughter -
Kathleen Bennison, were sat knitting in the dining
room at the back of 245 Stockport Road, Cheadle. 
They both had flu and decided to stay by the fire
instead of going to the air raid shelter in the
back garden.   As the bomb exploded, it blew in
the back wall of the house, decapitating both
women.    Her husband - Walter Bennison was one of
the local Fire Watchers and had to be restrained
from going into the house.

Commemorated on the Cheadle Town Memorial.

It appears that a lone German bomber unloaded it's
bombs on the Stockport/Cheadle area.  Five people
were killed, three in two dwellings along
Stockport Road and two at Boundary Bridge.
