Resided at 19 Stockport Street, Wigan.
Liverpool Echo dated the 26th January 1944 - At
his inquest held at Bootle, Michael Enwright, a
fellow member of the N.F.S. stated that he and
Edward loaded a lorry up with cinders. They then
sat on the pile of cinders as it was being driven
back to their depot. On reaching the yard the
vehicle had to cross over a small mound. Edward
then fell off the lorry fracturing his skull in
the fall.
Commemorated on the Fire Services Memorial in
London.
