Born during the September quarter 1913 in the
Prestwich R.D. - ref: 8d/554, the son of Israel &
Annie Libbert.

1939 National Registration - No Trace.   His
parents were residing at 142 Bury Old Road,
Manchester.    Israel Libbert - Married - Born on
the 3rd March 1873 - occ: Waterproof Garment
Manufacturer.    Annie Libbert - Married - Born on
the 1st February 1880 - occ: Unpaid Domestic
Duties.   Jack Libbert - Single - Born on the 12th
November 1911 - occ: Manager of a Waterproof
Garment Manufacturing Company, plus an A.R.P.
First Aider for Manchester City Council.

Daily Record dated the 21st September 1942 -
"N.F.S. Conscript Loses Life".  One of the first
firemen to lose his life in a Glasgow fire for
over 15 years was conscript NFS Fireman - Samuel
Libbert, aged: 29, 19 Woodhill Drive, Prestwich,
Manchester.   Samuel had come to the Glasgow Fire
Service from Manchester within the past two weeks,
he was unmarried.    Another local fireman was
also killed in the incident and they were both
fighting a fire gutted a three storey Glasgow
Warehouse on Saturday evening.

Dundee Courier dated the 21st September 1942.   As
above, but also reported that when the roof
crashed i, the retaining wall collapsed into a
lane in which the two firemen work working,
killing them both.

CWGC - Fireman, N.F.S. Son of Anna Libbert, of 7
Mayfield Road, Kersal, Manchester, Lancashire, and
of the late I. Libbert; husband of Lena Tobe
(formerly Libbert). ????      Died at Glasgow.
