Edith Lomax, of 199 Littleton Road, Lower Kersal.
Died at Littleton Road.

James enlisted into the ARP Warden Messenger
Servce before the outbrreak of War.

Killed just across the road from the Co-op, near
to the Cromwell Cinema.  Part of the Racecourse
wall was also demolished.

James was killed along with his fellow ARP
Mesenger - Bernard Arthur Brown, when an H.E. bomb
landed close to Littleton Road.   On Saturday,
19th April 1941, a Requiem Mass was conducted in
the morning at a neighbouring Catholic church,
followed by a short graveside service at the
?????? Cemetery in the afternoon.    Six lads from
James' Post carried the bier which was draped with
a Union Flag.   The graves of both lads are almost
alongside each other in the same cemetery.
