When the sirens sounded, the family went down into
their cellar to shelter. At some point, Hetty's
parents decided to go upstairs to make a cup of
tea, soon after the H.E. bomb hit their house.
Although trapped in the rubble of their house,
they survived, but Hetty and her serviceman (???)
boyfriend were killed. Their bodies were not
recovered until the 30th December. |
