3a/195, the daughter of William & Matilda Channell
(nee Napier).

London. Plus 1 younger brother.
Dorothy studied at Manchester University and was
resident in the Ashburne Hall there. She
graduated with a B.A. in English and obtained her
teaching Diploma in 1925. By then her parents had
moved to Bilton, Harrogate, Yorkshire.
Married Dr. Edwin Albert Moir during the September
quarter 1938 in the London City R.D. - ref:
1c/63.
1939 National Registration - 22 Station Road,
Brightlingsea, Essex. Residing with the Grigg
Family. Edwin A. Moir - Married - born on the
26th December 1872 - occ: Secretary - Ship
Repairing Assistant. Dorothy Moir - Married -
born on the 26th December 1901 - occ: Secondary
School Teacher.
Killed when a V1 Flying Bomb (Doodlebug) landed on
her home in Mercator Road at 08.20 hrs in the
morning of the 23rd June 1944. She was identified
only from the inscribed plates gifted to Ashburne
Hall in her memory by her husband Dr. Edwin Albert
Moir. A total of seven V1's landed in Lewisham
that day.
her husband - Edwin Albert Moir died in 1951,
aged: 79. There were no children of this union.
